KINDLE E-BOOK READER

The IIHMR Library has introduced the “Kindle E-book Reader Service" to promote and support digital & paperless reading through this facility. Presently five Kindle Paper White with unlimited eBook packages provided by Amazon are available for 07 days Loan.

Who can borrow it??

The service is currently restricted to students, faculty, and staff of the institute.

General Rules for Kindle loan:

  • Only one Kindle E-book reader can be borrowed at a time.
  • Renewal of the e-book reader is not allowed. This is to ensure that all library users get a chance to use the service.
  • The Kindle E-book reader will be issued for 5 days only.
  • The library has a reserve/hold facility for the reader of Kindle E-books through online request on the following E-mail id: librarydelhi@iihmr.edu.in
  • Reserving does not assure the immediate availability of a Kindle E-book for a loan. It depends on the first come first serve priority basis.
  • Each time the Kindle E-book is issued the user should sign the register after reading the borrowing policy.

KINDLE BORROWING POLICY

Library patrons are requested to read the following checkout policy and sign in the register before issuing the Kindle E-book reader

  1. Kindle E-book reader is available for issue by patrons including faculty, students and academic staff who have a valid library account.
  2. Kindle E-book reader can be borrowed for a maximum of 07 days at a time.
  3. Kindle E-book reader cannot be reserved for the next loan period. The patron must wait for two more weeks before issuing the same.
  4. Patron must show an Institute ID card to borrow the Kindle E-book reader.
  5. Kindle E-book reader must be returned to the IIHMR library staff member at the circulation counter.
  6. If the Kindle E-book reader is not returned before/on the due date, a fine of Rs.20.00 will be charged per day as per library policy.
  7. All Kindle E-book readers are advised to abide by IIHMR library rules & regulations and policies.
  8. The user will be held solely responsible for any damage and loss of the Kindle E-book. The user will have to either bear the full cost of the device and/ or accessories (as per market) or replace the same as applicable.
  9. The users are requested to ensure the device is in working condition before issuing and the same will be checked during return by the library staff.
  10. Users are strictly prohibited to copy, erasing, and adding any new content or file to Kindle E-Book Reader.
  11. The users may provide suggestions as to the newer content that needs to be added to the reader. This will be done by the library after weighing the utility of the content
  12. Other information will apply from time to time as per library policy.
